Orus Energy, a start-up specializing in electrical flexibility, helps and remunerates managers of commercial buildings such as Ikea, La Poste Immobilier and Vinci to consume their electricity more efficiently, at the best times. In this way, they help to balance the electricity grid instead of peak-load gas and coal-fired power stations.
Orus Energy transforms buildings into guardians of the electricity grid, facilitating the integration of intermittent renewable energies into the grid and limiting the need for peak-load thermal power plants.
Orus Energy is developing an electrical flexibility platform that enables commercial building managers to imperceptibly shift their flexible electrical consumption away from voltage peaks, as well as the associated economic value-adding service remunerating their contribution to balancing the electricity grid at up to €1/m2/year. This solution combines economic gains with carbon impact, thanks to punctual actions on the power demand of heating and air-conditioning equipment or electric vehicle charging stations, avoiding the need for peak fossil-fired power plants - all easily and free of charge, using existing control systems.
