Colas INMS: Ingénierie Nouvelle de Mécanique des Sols.
Since 2009, INMS has been developing and marketing ecological, low-carbon binders as alternatives to bituminous binders, concretes or resins used for exterior pavements. Our flagship product, Urbalith, is a low-carbon, eco-friendly alternative to conventional coatings such as asphalt or concrete pavements. Used in pedestrian walkways, cycle paths, sidewalks, squares and, since 2022, in parking lots and light traffic lanes, this naturally aesthetic surfacing is becoming an increasingly popular choice for eco-friendly outdoor surfaces.
Thanks to the aqua-binder technology developed by Colas, cities and buildings now have a low-carbon solution to the challenges of reducing waterproofing and combating heat islands.
Public garden to be completed in 2023 thanks to the Antibes town council. This park allows rainfall to be managed by natural infiltration, creating a cool oasis in summer.
Urbalith is an organo-mineral binder mix (aqua-liant). A technology that eliminates the need to use bituminous binders or cements for exterior paving, it is an effective alternative for de-waterproofing cities. Aesthetically pleasing, ecological and definitely geared to the ambitions of modern cities, Urbalith is a solution for all real estate and development projects that wish to be environmentally friendly. In carbon terms, it emits 5 times less than concrete pavement and 2 times less than conventional asphalt mix. 100% recyclable and reusable at the end of its life, this surfacing is also certified to meet strict specifications, enabling it to be laid in ecologically sensitive areas such as ZNIEFF or Natura 2000.
All these ecological advantages make it an ideal solution for meeting RE2020 regulatory requirements or certifications and labels such as HQE, BREEAM, LEED, B timent Durable or Biodivercity, for example.
