The Silva Tower in Bordeaux, built by GTM Bâtiment Aquitaine with, among others, Arbonis, Steeleom, Navarra TS and Botte Fondations, combines materials in an optimized design. Base and corridors are made of concrete, 3,800 m2 of floors of CLT (cross-laminated timber) and 200 m3 of glulam posts and beams.
Reflecting the growing expertise of local teams in the installation of wood and metal structures, with the support of Arbonis, as well as in the use of low-carbon concretes formulated with Exegy®L+C3 based on limestone filler and metakaolin - which make up half of the total volumes poured - the operation is aiming for the E+C- label (Energy 3 and Carbon 2).
Another unique feature of the project is the off-site production of 4,900 m2 of wood-frame facade, including aluminum joinery and finishing cladding!
