A pioneer, the BBCA association has been mobilizing since 2015 On the subject of carbon as a major issue for the future of building, in the wake of COP 21.
BBCA is the benchmark association for developers, architects, design offices, builders and investors - more than a hundred members - who are fighting to make controlling carbon emissions a priority for the act of building and, more generally, for buildings and cities. Jean Jouzel has been an honorary member from the outset. BBCA is recognized as being of general interest for its role in environmental protection.
The association is the originator of the world's first label for calculating the carbon footprint of buildings, the BBCA label, a benchmark for both new-build and renovation projects, which will be extended in 2024 to include low-carbon operations and neighborhoods. This work largely inspired the development of the RE2020 regulations.
L'Atelier, the conversion of a former industrial building into offices in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, is a project combining contemporary elegance, natural light and environmental performance.
A performance label dedicated to carbon criteria, the BBCA label is based on the various BBCA standards. It establishes threshold requirements that attest to a project's exemplary carbon footprint.
With 3 levels of requirements (Standard, Performance and Excellence for the highest), the BBCA Association sets the course for carbon ambition, provides the profession with targets for meeting the challenges of low-carbon building, and guides real estate players towards the adoption of best practices.
Today, the BBCA label covers all scales of the city, from building to neighborhood, and territories :
- European LCBI label
- BBCA New label
- BBCA Renovation label
- BBCA Operating label
- BBCA Neighborhood label
- Label BBCA Commerce
- Label BBCA Hotel...
