FOR 100% CIRCULARITY OF BUILDING ENVELOPE: WICONA closes the loop of its recycling chain through a new activity collecting aluminum from renovation sites
Driven by its desire to offer 100% circularity for its aluminum joinery, WICONA, a subsidiary of the Norwegian Hydro Group, has been conducting experiments since 2023 to recover and process aluminum from joinery or facades deposited on renovation projects. Encouraged by the positive response from the market, this experimental phase has now been transformed into a long-term project. WICONA is launching a new offer called "total circularity", and is now offering to collect aluminum from renovation sites, the final step in a virtuous cycle from site to site for its partners. Ensuring a complete circuit: removing and recovering old aluminum joinery, sending it to the Group's recycling plants and supplying new products based on low-carbon Hydro CIRCAL® recycled aluminum, with the lowest carbon footprint on the market.
