As part of its "sustainable builder" approach, Otis worked on an elevator reuse solution for a tower project at La Défense, reusing existing guides. A saving of 1,760 tonnes of CO2 equivalent is estimated for the entire project.
This process of reusing components significantly reduces the overall carbon footprint.

Our Gen2 technology, standard on all our equipment, is renowned for its low energy consumption.

As an example, our ReGen™ Drive current regeneration system, increases the efficiency of our elevators and reduces their consumption by up to 75%* by recovering the energy produced during braking phases (*compared to conventional elevators equipped with a non-regenerative drive system). The ReGen™ Drive regenerates the energy produced by the elevator and returns it to the building's internal power grid, energy that can be made available to other systems such as lighting.

Our motor offers optimum energy efficiency, with virtually no energy loss.

The polyurethane-coated steel flat belts developed by Otis offer optimum adhesion to the pulley. They last twice as long as a conventional steel cord and require no lubrication (no grease or oil).
Our Pulse™ system monitors the condition of the belts' steel strands 24/7 for enhanced safety.
Balancing belt tension contributes to vibration-free traction and optimizes
energy consumption. This continuous monitoring system also reduces the need for on-site technician visits.

All our lifts are Class A energy-efficient. Our elevators are among the most energy-efficient on the market.
