Founded in 2014 and based in Bournezeau in the Vendée region, Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies designs, produces and markets innovative 0% clinker cements that are highly decarbonized, with a carbon footprint divided by 5 compared with traditional cements, and which, at equivalent dosage and without any modification to the concrete manufacturing process, offer superior performance to traditional cement.
Hoffmann Green has two production units powered by a fleet of solar trackers on the Bournezeau site: a plant 4.0 and H2, the world's first vertical cement plant, which was inaugurated in May 2023. A third plant will be built in the Rhône-Alpes region by 2027-2028, bringing the Group's total production capacity to around 1,000,000 tonnes a year. The Group has industrialized a genuine technological breakthrough based on the modification of cement composition and the creation of a cold, 0% clinker, energy-efficient manufacturing process, making it a leading and unique player in the cement market, which has remained unchanged for 200 years.
Against a backdrop of climate urgency and energy price inflation, Hoffmann Green Cement is playing an active role in the energy transition by producing a clean 0% clinker cement that consumes 10 to 15 times less energy than Portland cement, and by promoting eco-responsible construction, the circular economy and the preservation of natural resources. Thanks to its unrivalled and constantly evolving technological know-how, supported by high-performance teams, Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies addresses all markets in the construction sector, both in France and internationally. Hoffmann Green has joined the 2022 class of French green nuggets as part of the French Tech Green20 program, run by Mission French Tech, in partnership with the French Ministry of Ecological Transition.
In June 2023, the company was selected in French Tech 2030, an ambitious new support program operated by La Mission French Tech alongside the Secrétariat général pour l'investissement (SGPI) and Bpifrance. The company is pursuing its international development as a licensing company, signing contracts in the UK and Ireland, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
